Chapter 27: A Hit and Run in God's Waiting Room
'Olek had spent the last few days in a kind of surreal daze. Contemplating what might transpire beyond his own limited existence was not something he could conceive of. It was apparent that life would simply go on for the people that meant the most to him. Like being informed that although a great soiree would be taking place in your neighbourhood, unfortunately, your invitation had been rescinded and all the details of the imminent party were to remain a mystery. It was a devastating prospect. But ignorance is bliss, as they say, and there was comfort to be had in not knowing what one would be missing.'
